Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening might be needed due to discoloured teeth or staining. Generally, we do a thorough scale and clean first prior to assessing the need for teeth whitening.

We will normally check the tooth colour and assess the possibility of how much change the whitening can produce before suggesting the options.

In the surgery, we generally only do a custom-fitted tray and the bleaching solution to be done by the patient for a 2-week duration. This allows the patient to have more control over the amount of whitening that is done and also prevents oversensitivity of the teeth. The tray can be re-used if there are no changes in the dentition multiple times, all that is needed is the whitening solution.
